Green - Rudgwick

When:- Sunday 22nd September 2024, meet at 08.45am for a 09.00am depart. We will be departing promptly at 09.00am.

Where:- We meet at Colicci Café, near Roehampton Gate in Richmond Park, SW15 5JP. For those that use the What3Words app, the meeting point is ///seats.tunes.hoping.

There will also be a second meeting point at TK Maxx, near Kingston Bridge, KT1 1PB. For those that use the What3Words app, the second meeting point is ///fries.plenty.faded. You should aim to be at this meeting point at 09:15am.

How:– An intermediate ride over a distance of 50-65 miles/80-104 km. This is a 'no-drop' ride and the group will cycle at a comfortable pace for all riders.

THIS IS A RIDE FOR FULL HWCC CLUB MEMBERS WHO HAVE PREVIOUSLY ATTENDED A SATURDAY NEW MEMBERS INDUCTION RIDE.

ALL RIDERS MUST WEAR A HELMET - THIS IS REQUIREMENT OF OUR BRITISH CYCLING INSURANCE, AND WE CANNOT ALLOW ANYONE WITHOUT A HELMET TO JOIN OUR RIDES.

MEMBERS ARE REMINDED THAT PARTICIPATION OF ANY HWCC EVENT IS AT THE MEMBER’S SOLE RISK.

If the event is full, please add yourself to the waiting list and we will try to add another group(s).

Please only sign up if you are confident of coming otherwise, a few dropouts can make for very small groups.

Event Rankings 

Red – A beginner session. 

Orange - A social ride over a distance of 20-35 miles/32-56 km. 

Yellow - A steady ride over a distance of 35-50 miles/56-80 km. 

Green - An intermediate ride over a distance of 50-65 miles/80-104 km. 

Blue - An advanced ride over a distance of 65+ miles/104+ km. 

Indigo - Any ride not organised by HWCC, such as a sportive or audax. 

Violet - A social event or meeting.

Membership/New Members 

All new Meetup group members wishing to join as a Full Member, are asked to attend a New Members Induction Ride of Richmond Park, which is posted on Meetup and held twice a month. You will then be welcome to join the Hampton Wick Cycling Club as a full member a £30 annual subscription should be paid. Details of joining the club will be provided once you have attended a New Members Induction Ride.

Hampton Wick Cycling Club is a non-profit organisation run by volunteers. We are an affiliated club with British Cycling and try to cater for all levels of cyclists. For the payment of your annual subscription you get access to great weekly rides of varying levels, club discounts, holidays, and social meetups.

Please bring two water bottles, snacks, cash/cards for coffee, lights, a pump, Allen keys/multi-tool and at least one spare inner tube.

The aim will be to ride together, waiting at junctions and at tops of hills, if required, to keep the group together.
